How it all got started!
Background: There are different traveling styles, from the spontaneous go with the flow backpacker, to the super itinerary planner.
Both use maps to orient themselves in a new location. There are many travel sites online that help with planning, travel advice, but they are often scattered in different websites, or if you wanted personalized itinerary advice, you would have to ask a forum.
To some, this is overwhelming and would rather travel with little to no plans, but then they might miss out on things they are unaware of, or not fully utilize their time efficiently.
I am interested in creating an app that focuses on map visuals primarily, and that will utilize travelers personal recommendations, customizable/shareable itineraries, and as-you-go VR/AR tours. (Imagine, wikipedia in a map formation).
